Welcome to the 108 new Banner members. We’re Paige and Mason. The Bend Banner is our way of keeping tabs on this wild, beautiful place we call home. To the mornings that start with coffee and mountain air, the trails that somehow always lead to a brewery, and the kind of small-town stories that remind you why you chose to live here in the first place.

Most Bend businesses are great at what they do. They're just not great at telling the internet about it.

That's where Build comes in. They handle the advertising side of growing a business: the ads, the landing pages, the leads, and the strategy that turns ad spend into actual customers. No guessing. No boosting random posts and hoping something sticks.

If you want to start running real campaigns the right way, shoot them an email. They're local, they're good, and they actually pick up.

The Great Breakfast Burrito Hunt

It's time to settle something that has divided breakfast tables across this town for far too long.

We are going on the hunt for the best breakfast burrito in Bend.

Here's how it works. You nominate your pick. We gather the top contenders and report back the results.

But first, the rules. They are fair. They are final. They are as follows:

  • The burrito must contain eggs.

  • Protein is welcome but not required (bacon, sausage, chorizo, you do you).

  • No post-order modifications. You get what you get, and we score it as-is.

  • Salsa and hot sauce on the side do not count toward the score. What's inside the tortilla is what matters.

  • The burrito must come from a restaurant, food cart, or local business inside Bend city limits.

  • Hash browns inside the burrito? Absolutely counts. Hash browns on the side? Does not.

That's it. Simple, clean, and extremely delicious in practice.

Now we need your help. If you have eaten a breakfast burrito in this town that stopped you in your tracks, made you close your eyes, or caused you to immediately text someone about it, we want to know.

Tell us where to go. Give us the name of the spot, what to order, and one sentence on why it deserves the crown if you’d like. That's all we need. We will tally them up and give you the results next week.

May the best burrito win.

Something Is Coming to Your Mailbox This Summer

We've been working on something we're really excited about.

The Summer Bend Banner Quarterly is officially in the works, and preorders are open now.

If you got the spring edition, you already know what this is. A real envelope, mailed to your actual door, packed with locally sourced Bend goods that feel like summer. Not a package. Not a box. Just a regular envelope with a single stamp on it, the kind that feels a little like getting mail from a friend who really knows this place.

This summer's edition is going to be our best one yet. We've got some fun local partners lined up, and we're putting together things that are actually useful for a Bend summer. The kind of stuff that gets you outside, exploring, and making the most of some of the best few months of the year here.

Preorders ship the first week of July, right when you need it most.

If you want one, grab your spot now.

🐾Bend’s Best Good Boys & Good Girls 🐾

🐶 Halo – 1 year, Retriever Mix

This one-year-old lab mix is ready to find her forever family.  Great with other dogs, she'd also make an awesome hiking buddy, and she and her foster mom have enjoyed exploring all the trails in Bend.

🐶 Kaylee – 7 years, Mix
Kaylee is a calm presence who is good with kids, families, and cats. She’s even been known to help groom her fellow cats.

🐱 Oceana – 6 months - Mix
This pup is shy but has been very friendly with everyone. She’s been super sweet and will need some socialization to help her get more acclimated.

If you’re fostering a dog, reach out. We’d love to help get them adopted.
